Jodrell Bank Observatory is part of the University of Manchester in the UK. It operates the 76-metre Lovell Telescope and e-MERLIN, the UK's national radio astronomy facility. With seven radio telescopes spread 217 km across England and connected by optical fibres, e-MERLIN can produce very detailed views of the radio sky.
